Youth to Perform in Spring Orchestra Concert
Photo Opportunity at Joe Garza Recreation Center on May 6th
CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – Practice. Practice. Practice. That’s what it takes to become good at anything. And that is exactly what the current group of youth in "Garza Center Strings" have been doing for the past eight months. Now, to showcase their musical skills, they will be performing in the Spring Orchestra Concert at 5:30 p.m. Monday, May 6th at the Joe Garza Recreation Center, 3204 Highland Avenue. The Corpus Christi Parks & Recreation Department invites the public to attend this free performance.
The purpose of this music program is to provide children in our community with the opportunity to learn how to play the violin, viola, and cello along with the experience of performing music in an orchestra to an audience. Through this training, they also learn important skills that will serve them in life, such as the importance of everyone doing their part well which takes discipline and dedication, and how to work together in a coordinated effort with a sole purpose to execute something beautiful and joyful.
