Forever Young Celebration

Celebrating 90+ Years of Living. Photo Opportunity on June 27.

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX - The Corpus Christi Parks & Recreation Department’s Senior Community Services will be hosting its 4th Annual “Forever Young Celebration: Celebrating 90+ Years of Living” in honor of 46 senior center members who attend eight city senior centers. The event will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 27, at the Garden Senior Center, located at 5325 Greely Drive.

On this day, we will be celebrating center members who have reached a birthday milestone, 90+ years, in our community. Across the country, older Americans – a rapidly growing population – are taking part in activities that promote wellness and social connection. They are sharing their wisdom and experience with future generations, and they are giving back to make enrich their communities. We are blessed to say that we have had the pleasure of knowing such special people. “Life should not only be lived, but it should be celebrated.” – Osho

We want to show them our respect, appreciation and celebrate their 90 + years. It is becoming more apparent that remaining socially engaged can improve the quality of life for older adults. Among these members, Marcelene Mardis will be presented a special recognition for being the oldest senior center member at 99 years old.
