City Offers Citizens Free Detect-a-Leak Tablets

CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS – If not checked regularly, a leaky toilet can waste up to 200 gallons of water per day. A simple and inexpensive leak detection test can be performed with food coloring or dye tablets. The utilities department is offering free dye tablets for residents who would like to inspect their toilets.

This is a proactive measure for homeowners to take before they experience an increase in water pressure because of new elevated towers going on line this spring. With the pressure change, comes the need to be prepared and ensure your pipes and plumbing are ready for the change in water pressure. The tablets are available at the City Hall information booth at 1201 Leopard Street on the first floor or at the Utilities Department, 2726 Holly Road.
