CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – When you hear about DNA testing, you might think about the process used in criminal cases. Instead of testing blood, saliva, and hair, the City of Corpus Christi uses DNA testing as part of our water treatment process. The Utilities Department has the nation’s first municipal government DNA lab that tests water to guarantee its safety for our residents and customers. The public is invited to see the steps taken by the City to test water DNA and to understand the results.
