Janet F. Harte Public Library Offers New Kind of Gaming Experience

CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS – If your kids spend too much time sitting on the sofa playing video games, it is time to introduce them to a much more educational gaming experience. The Janet F. Harte Public Library located at 2629 Waldron Road is presenting an interactive escape room which will feature games from Breakout EDU on Saturday, March 4, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. The event is free and is open to individuals 14 years of age and older.

Breakout EDU is an immersive games platform which is designed to promote collaboration between its players so they can solve a series of critical thinking puzzles which will open a locked box.  Once the box is unlocked, the participants can then “break out” of the room in which the game is being played.

The library has acquired a Breakout EDU game kit which can be used to play a wide variety of games.

These interactive gaming activities are designed to teach teamwork, problem solving, critical thinking, and troubleshooting by presenting participants with challenges that ignite their natural drive to solve problems.

Participants will be placed on three teams of 5 to 10 people. Each game lasts for 45 minutes and will be played in four rounds. This escape room activity will be presented monthly.
