Planning Underway for Mayor’s 4th of July Celebration

Fireworks and parade scheduled for July 4

The 4th of July is less than four months away, and preparations have begun for the Mayor’s Big Bang Celebration.

The festivities will begin Thursday, June 30, and continue through Monday, July 4. Similar to last year, the event footprint will extend from Dolphin Park on North Beach to Oleander Point at Cole Park. This year’s parade will be at 11:30 a.m., July 4 and similar to years past, there will be an essay contest for local students.

The H-E-B Fireworks Show will conclude the five-day celebration on Monday, July 4 and will be set off from a barge located north of the Peoples Street T-Head. The barge location will increase public viewing from more areas of the City.

As the event gets closer, attendees are encouraged to visit www.BigBangCorpusChristi.com for updated information including the parade route, park and ride locations, schedule of events and site maps. You also can like us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/MayorsBigBang
