Online Registration for Latchkey Summer Camp Opens May 26 - 29

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – Corpus Christi Parks & Recreation Department announces the opening of the Latchkey Summer Camps in accordance with federal and state COVID-19 precaution guidelines for childcare facilities ensuring the safety of children and employees.

Online Registration for the Latchkey Summer Camps program will begin the week of May 26 - May 29, 2020. New locations are offered this year with a limited number of available slots. Registration for each center will be on the specified date listed below;  

Online Registration Schedule starts at 9am at www.ccparkandrec.com as follows:

May 26: Oso Recreation Center (40 slots)

May 26: Joe Garza Recreation Center (60 slots)

May 27: Northwest Senior Center (75 slots)

May 28: Greenwood Senior Center (80 slots)

May 29: Lindale Senior Center (80 slots)

This program is for youth ages 5 to 13. The Corpus Christi Parks & Recreation Department’s Latchkey Summer Camps program is our premier program that meets high standards for child care with an excellent curriculum by trained staff. It is licensed by the Texas Health & Human Services Commission and all staff are certified in CPR and First Aid.

The camps offer many opportunities for children to participate in arts and craft projects, recreational activities, and enjoy presentations by guest speakers. Through play, children stay active and learn to develop a healthy lifestyle and social skills. Our enthusiastic and professional staff are committed to making this a #CamptasticSummer for all our campers!

Morning and afternoon snacks will be provided. Campers must bring their own lunch. Reasonable accommodations may be requested for a child with disabilities by contacting John Delgado at (361) 826-3491.

Program Hours:  June 8–July 31, 2020, Monday–Friday, 7:30am–6pm (Closed July 3)

Joe Garza Recreation Center   3204 Highland Avenue

Northwest Senior Center           9725 Up River Road

Greenwood Senior Center        4040 Greenwood Drive

 Lindale Senior Center               3135 Swantner Drive

Fee: $99/week/child or $25/day/child.

$50/week/child with scholarship. Tuition assistance is available for qualified participants.

New safety processes have been implemented to comply with COVID-19 prevention. Children will have their temperatures taken at the door prior to sign-in.
