Mayor’s 4th of July Essay Contest for Coastal Bend
5th - 7th Graders
The Corpus Christi 4th of July Big Bang Celebration is hosting an essay contest for 5th through 7th graders. The winner will have a special place to ride in the Mayor’s Fourth of July Parade, will receive a Kindle Fire HD 8" with HD Display, Wi-Fi and 8 GB provided by the Daughters of the American Revolution - Corpus Christi Chapter and attend a special luncheon with the DAR chapter. Below are the essay requirements:
Essay Prompt: Reflecting on the history and deeper meaning of the Fourth of July is important. It is also fun to remember the wonderful ways our nation celebrates. What does the 4th of July mean to you?
Length Requirements: 600–1,000 words
Cover Page Should Include: Full name, school, grade, and student and parent contact information (including address)
Final Essay Due: Tuesday May 31, 2016
