Mayor's 4th of July Big Bang Road Closures and Park and Ride Info

No Parking Areas and Road Closures

The City of Corpus Christi Traffic Engineering office advises residents of the following road closures and no parking areas in preparation for the Mayor’s 4th of July Big Bang Celebration. No parking areas and road closures will start Monday, July 4 at 7:00 a.m. 

Shoreline Boulevard:

Starting at 7:00 a.m. Northbound Shoreline Boulevard will be closed between Buford Avenue and Resaca Street. Traffic traveling northbound on Shoreline Boulevard toward the closure, will detour at Buford Avenue to Water Street. Southbound Shoreline Boulevard will be closed between Resaca Street and IH 37.

Starting at 4:00 p.m. Southbound Shoreline Boulevard will be closed between IH-37 and Furman Street.

Street parking will not be allowed on both sides of Shoreline Boulevard along the street closures and towing will be strictly enforced.

SEA District:

Starting at 7:00 a.m. Southbound traffic on Water Street will be restricted at Resaca Street and at Power Street. Fitzgerald Street and Palo Alto Street will be closed between Chaparral Street and Shoreline Boulevard.

Starting at 4:00 p.m. Southbound Chaparral Street closed at Brewsters Street. Traffic traveling Southbound on Chaparral Street toward the closure, will detour at Brewsters Street to Mesquite Street.

Street parking will not be allowed in and around the street closures and towing will be strictly enforced. Only residential street parking will be allowed those streets.

Belden Street and Resaca Street will be the only side streets to allow traffic heading east toward Water Street and the Barge Dock.

North Beach:                                                                                         

The Police Department will provide closures and/or alternate traffic routes after the firework display, if necessary, to move traffic out of North Beach and onto the highway.

Parking in the SEA District and along the Seawall is limited so people are encouraged to use the Park and Ride. Traffic control devices will guide motorists through the road closures.

NO PARKING, TOW AWAY ZONES WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED IN ALL AREAS.

 

Park & Ride

Thanks to the generosity of our community partner, the Corpus Christi RTA, complimentary Park & Ride service will be available for the Mayor’s Big Bang Celebration!

Hours of Operation:  Monday, July 4 from 10:00 a.m. to Midnight

Pick-Up Locations:

Corpus Christi City Hall: 1201 Leopard St.

Nueces County Courthouse: 901 Leopard St.

Drop-Off Location:

Shoreline Blvd. by the Art Center
