Lifesaving Program Recognized

Recently, the Regional Health Awareness Board honored the Corpus Christi Fire Department for giving CCISD high school seniors hands-on training on how to save a life.
Firefighters teach teens CPR and how to operate an Automated External Defibrillator, AED, a device that delivers an electrical shock to the heart.
The Regional Health Awareness Board was created by an inter-local agreement between San Patricio County, Nueces County and the City of Corpus Christi to promote health, welfare and environmental issues that affect our communities. Station 3 firefighters were recognized during a luncheon at the Solomon Ortiz Center. Captain Robert Ruiz picked up the award from the Regional Health Awareness Chairman Dr. James Mobley.
