Fitness, Karate and Dance Classes Offered this Summer

Register for these Recreation Center Classes Today

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – The Corpus Christi Parks & Recreation Department is offering three classes at its recreation centers to help you and your kids stay active this summer.

Adult Aerobics Class will be offered by the Corpus Christi Parks & Recreation Department on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30pm-6:30pm at the Lindale Recreation Center, 3133 Swantner Drive. The class incorporates strength training with weights and resistance to increase muscle and metabolism. It includes kickboxing, step-bench, body sculpting, ab work, flexibility and relaxation. Professional Instruction is provided by Cheryl Vandever. Cost is $25 per month. Registration at Lindale Recreation Center or call 361-826-3449 Monday-Friday between 11am-4pm.

Shorin-Ryu Karate Class will be offered by the Corpus Christi Parks & Recreation Department for adults and children ages 6 and older on Mondays and Fridays from 4pm-5pm at the Oak Park Recreation Center, 842 Erwin Drive. Learn new street style martial arts that are different and exciting. The program teaches self-defense techniques in a safe environment while simulating real life situations. Professional Instruction is provided by Harriol Griffin. Cost is $20 per month. Registration at Oak Park Recreation Center or call 361-826-3481 Monday-Friday between 11am-4pm.

Street Dance Class will be offered by the Corpus Christi Parks & Recreation Department for adults and children ages 3 and older on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30pm-7pm at the Oso Recreation Center, 1111 Bernice Drive. Street dancing involves a range of funk and hip-hop dance styles. Popular forms of street dance include break-dance, popping, locking and house dance. Street dance incorporates a lot of cardio, squats, turns, jumps and stretching. Professional Instruction is provided by Jacob Murphy. Cost is $30 per month.
