Fire Chief Presents Civilian Lifesaving Award

This afternoon, Fire Chief Robert Rocha honored two citizens with the department’s Civilian Lifesaving Award.

Last month, Susan Fields and Ana Rossetti came to the aid of a teenager who was having a heart attack. The two Driscoll Children’s Hospital employees discovered the young man in a nearby parking lot. They initiated and maintained CPR until EMS arrived and used a defibrillator on the patient. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

The news conference took place this afternoon at the Driscoll Hospital Rehab Building 3533 S. Alameda Street at 3:00 p.m. For information contact Captain Robert Ruiz at (361) 876-7663.
