Filing Period Ends Soon for Mayoral Candidates

Corpus Christi, TX - City Secretary Rebecca L. Huerta reminds everyone the Special Election to fill the vacancy in the office of Mayor will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2017.

The filing period for Corpus Christi residents interested in running for Mayor ends on Monday, March 27, 2017 by 5:00 p.m. Candidate information, including application forms and the requirements for filing, can be found on the City’s website at www.cctexas.com, under “Current Information / 2017 Special Election Central”.

On Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at 8:30 a.m. in City Council Chambers, City Secretary Huerta will conduct a drawing to determine the order in which the candidates’ names are listed on the ballot.

Early voting will begin Monday, April 24 and end on Tuesday, May 2, 2017. The last day to register to vote in the Special Election is Thursday, April 6, 2017.
