Boil Water Advisory Continues

The City continues to make progress in lifting the boil water advisory issued late Friday. City crews continue to work 24/7 and are seeing chlorine disinfectant levels stabilizing. Additional sampling continues throughout the City to ensure adequate chlorine is maintained. The next update will occur Sunday afternoon when the latest round of water sample results will be available. There continues to be no E.coli in the water system.

Since 2015, the City has begun implementation of a variety of programs to ensure compliance with changes in State and Federal regulations. One program is uni-directional flushing which scrubs the interior of pipes to reduce any nitrification which can cause disinfectant levels to dissipate. Another program involves replacing aged cast iron pipes with a technique called pipe bursting. This year 10,000 new feet of pipe has been installed by City water in various parts of the City. For more information on the pipe bursting see the following industry video: https://youtu.be/HX5beh0ubGY

The City will provide updates when information changes or when it is no longer necessary to boil water. Citizens can receive on-going information about the water boil advisory at the City website at www.cctexas.com (newsroom) or http://news.cctexas.com. The newsroom also has a feature for residents to sign up for direct news via email.
