Detention Center Staff Provides Support to School

Some Los Encinos Elementary students received a visit recently from members of the City Detention Center staff. Employees adopted two kindergarten classes and provided much needed school supplies to the children. The group donated pencil boxes, neon markers and glue sticks, among other important materials that will help with their studies.
While the teachers were overwhelmed by the unexpected support, the kids were all smiles checking out their special delivery. Detention Center Manager Captain Keane Monroe handed teachers his business card with instructions to call him for anything throughout the year. There's already plans in the works for detention staff to spread some future holiday cheer.
