Connecting Pets with Vets Adoption Event

Creating New Beginnings

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – Corpus Christi Animal Care Services (CCACS) and the Corpus Christi Vet Center invite area veterans looking for a furry best friend to attend the Pets for Vets Adoption event. Pets for Vets will take place Friday, September 20, at 2626 Holly Road, from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Pets give unconditional love and acceptance and can help with depression, anxiety and stress. In addition, they can provide companionship and ease loneliness.

September is Suicide Prevention Month and the focus of this event is to raise awareness by teaming up veterans with pre-screened animals. CCACS staff and counselors will be on hand to find veterans their best-matched companion.

A special $22 adoption fee covers spaying or neutering, tags, shots, microchipping and even dog training.

Reasonable accommodations are provided upon request and in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. For assistance or to request a reasonable accommodation, please call 361-826-3234 at least 48 hours in advance.

For more information media representatives can contact Dale Stephán at 361-826-3234 or by email at dales3@cctexas.com.
