City of Corpus Christi Employee Recognition

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX - Utilities Department Administrative Manager Blanca Villanueva has made quite an impression on her fellow employees. She is about to celebrate her two-year anniversary with the city and already she’s been chosen the 2019 Employee of the 1st Quarter. The announcement was made during an Academy Award themed event put on by the city’s Human Resources Learning Institute.

“I’m really blessed to be part of a great team which makes my job easy,” Villanueva said. “We have so much fun while being productive and couldn’t ask for a better team.”

Villanueva’s nomination focused on bringing holiday cheer to 200 utilities employees by organizing a Thanksgiving luncheon and organizing a Christmas celebration for the children at the Ark Assessment Center.

Other nominees included, Development Services Senior Project Manager Andrew Dimas, Solid Waste Compliance Officer II Teresa Santana, Housing and Community Development Mortgage Servicing Aide Armando Ortiz, Police Department Management Assistant Virginia Rowley, General Fleet Service Center Foreman Javier Flores and Asset Management Maintenance Technician Willis Hand.

Legal Assistant Erica D. Lozano received the Volunteer of the Quarter with 38.5 hours.

Congratulations, everyone!
