City Manager Ron Olson Resigns

City Manager Ron Olson Resigns

Earlier today City Manager Ron Olson submitted his letter of resignation. “Ultimately I am responsible for the organization and with that I’m holding myself accountable for the recent water boil,” said Ron Olson. “Even though the water boil is a catalyst event, this is something I have been thinking about for a long time and I feel like now is the right time,” added Olson.

He also noted this is only one of the factors for his decision. “I feel like I’m leaving the organization in better shape than when I arrived despite some ongoing infrastructure problems that have been around for many years. I am grateful for the fine people I’ve worked alongside during my time at the City of Corpus Christi. I’d like to thank the Mayor and Council both previous and present for their support and giving me the opportunity to serve Corpus Christi,” said Olson.

Olson has served as City Manager for the City of Corpus Christi for 5 years and his last day will be upon the completion of any accrued leave time. An interim City Manager has not been announced at this time.
