City Employees Donate $95K to United Way

City employees stepped up once again for the United Way of the Coastal Bend. Recently, volunteers presented members of the non-profit with a check for $95,000. Almost 1,000 employees donated part of their paycheck to the 2016 campaign.

"This says we have a lot of employees very interested in our community," City Manager Margie C. Rose said. "And by giving to the United Way, they're showing they care about our community and helping people."

The Police Department raised the most funds by collecting $21,267, followed by the Fire Department with $14,300 and Utilities and Gas raised $13,661.
