City Departments Receive National Honor

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX - Housing and Community Development recently earned a national award for their collaborative efforts alongside the Parks and Recreation Department in the building of "Play for all Playground" at Salinas Park.
The award recognizes the departments innovative use of Community Development Block Grants Funds by helping to supply ADA accessibile playground equipment and provide an equal opportunity for play.
Last month, Housing and Community Development Department Director Rudy Bentancourt attended the National Community Development Association's Winter Conference in Washington, D.C. and accepted the 2019 Audrey Nelson Award on the City's behalf.
