City Continues Harvey Recovery and Improvements Thanks to EDA Grant

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – The City of Corpus Christi was recently awarded a $3-million investment grant from the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration (EDA).

The “2018 Disaster Supplemental Funding - Roadway Improvements” award will go towards the construction of critical roadway infrastructure improvements to Junior Beck Drive, just off Bear Lane. The project will help expand roadway infrastructure and provide better access to a city-owned industrial park.

This improvement aims to attract industrial development, create new job opportunities, enhance the marketability of the economy, and support the City’s ongoing efforts to mitigate the impacts of Hurricane Harvey.

EDA grants are awarded through a competitive process based upon the application’s merit, the eligibility, and the availability of funds.
