CCIA Covered Parking Reopens
As the summer vacation travel season approaches, the Corpus Christi International Airport (CCIA) has reopened the 331 spaces in the covered parking lot in front of the terminal.
Covered parking had been closed for the past six weeks for maintenance work and for the installation of new canopies. Crews have replaced pole covers, removed rust, power washed and painted. Most of the maintenance work was done in advance of the canopy installation. The lots were cleared of vehicles to safely complete the work. While maintenance was underway crews also re-striped the parking lot. The new canopies have a life span of between 10 to 12 years. The total cost of the project was $178,000.
