Book Details City Public Art Collection

Everything you need to know about the City's Public Art Collection can now be found in a new book.

In, City of Corpus Christi, Texas: Public Art Collection, copywriters, Tess Allan and Lynda Jones provide readers colorful pictures and key details about the artists, how the art was made, the costs and materials and most importantly, the locations. Allan also photographed all of the book's art.

"The goal in distributing this book is to promote the City's mission to enhance Corpus Christi through artwork," Allan said. Del Mar College, Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi and CCISD also will use the book to educate students.

The Corpus Christi Arts and Cultural Council funded the project. Free copies of the guide can be picked up at the Art Center and the Convention and Visitors Bureau. For more information contact the City's Parks and Recreation Department at (361) 826-PLAY(7529).
